Hali just spent 2 and a half HOURS fighting a group of 11 Paladins out in the Barrens. Big groups like that are hard to resist due to the great experience, but for someone of Hali's level, it's not worth the trouble. There's an experience cap at 10,000 points - which Hali can get fighting 6 paladins! Greed and the challenge must have gotten the better of her when she jumped that group.

Paladins of this sort are a recent addition to the Realm. They can be found in the east, in Winter Wold and the Barrens. For an under level 500 wizard, they are a dream come true. They are not myst resistant, rarely hit over 80 points, and can be seriously hurt with elemental spells. The negative aspects? They heal, are partially immune to necromancy spells, and will immediately banish any summoned creatures. Hali circumvents these problems by shifting, mass zerking and then using sandstorm/gust of wind until the last one falls. An occasional Death Wish can be thrown in, but again, it is often resisted. Magical Amulets really come in handy here, although it can be a pain to switch back and forth.

I certainly hope Hali has learned her lesson. Yes, she's proved she's a tough lil wizzy, and all paladins should fear her power, but stick to terrorizing the smaller groups! She will level faster that way. 2 and a half hours for one level is NOT wise time management!

Well, it's pumpkin madness here on the Realm! Pumpkins! Big ones! That can be carved! Hundreds of players have descended on Usk to the special pumpkin patch that appeared yesterday. The theory is that new large pumpkins would spawn every so often and players could pick 'one' up off the ground. Naturally, you can guess what happened. To stop the mass player looting, they're now being dropped all over the place, and everyone is out killing everything they come across, hoping to find a pumpkin. It's a good distraction for the players, as a small problem has caused most of the caves to be shut down.

Calder: Greetings all! The parade is set to start in just moments. While we wait I wanted to take a moment and thank Ciobhan (NPC) and the fine folks at Ethereal Outlet for loaning us viewing crystals for todays parade.
JeptaBat: The viewing crystals allow us to locate and view our hosts positions throughout the parade area.
LostSailorSurtur: That's right, and while we are on that topic let's go live to Calder who is standing in the float waiting area. Calder are you there?
Calder: Hi guys! It's me, coming to you from the float waiting area. We have float crews running around getting the final preparations ready for today's parade.
LostSailorSurtur: Calder is the excitement there high?
Calder: Say that again? My viewing crystal went out.
LostSailorSurtur: I said is the excitement there high?
Calder: No I don't want any dye.
JeptaBat: Hrmm. Ok thanks Calder!
Calder: Surtur is located at the review stand in the Hard Rox Cafe and I am still located at thefloat prep area. Jepta will be on the first float so we can get up close and personal with the experience.
Calder: -
JeptaBat: We should have all aspects of todays parade covered. Let's check in with Surtur.
JeptaBat: Hello, come in Surtur.
LostSailorSurtur: Hi Jepta, let me tell you and the folks along the parade route what to expect today.
LostSailorSurtur: This parade will showcase some of the many fine citizens that work in our lands!
LostSailorSurtur: Wait! I think I see some movement from the review stand, yes, yes I am sure. It looks like the first float has entered the city!
Calder: That's right Surtur, this float is called "Bat's in the Belfry" and is sponsored by the Troll Spit Tavern, makers of fine ambrosia.

Calder: Surtur what is the view like at the review stand?
LostSailorSurtur: Well Calder at the moment my view is blocked by the back of Mersade's head, down in front! Folks are climbing around watching as this first float comes down the street. I feel the excitement growing!
JeptaBat: Sir step away from the float! No sir, remember if you stay in your original place for the entire parade you could win a prize. What? I'm on?
LostSailorSurtur: Lol. Jepta brings up a good point, staying in your original place along the parade route could entitle you to a prize!

Ok . . . I now have all pages in the new format. 22 pages in all. Now it's time for some fine-tuning. I already have a list started of what needs to be fixed. At the top of the list is the Realm Regulars pages and the Hall of Fame.

Please, please PLEASE send me your updates. I'm begging here. I know quite a few people who have created new toons, deleted toons, or reached 1k. I will soon begin tracking these people down to be sure I have the right information.

It seems the Realm is trying something new!

The Harvest of Souls is being celebrated, and they're kicking things off with a parade around the paremeter of Leinster. Here's the invitation as posted on the Realm Forum Announcements Page:

"Greetings citizens!

On behalf of The Realm Online Event Staff and The Leinster Chamber of Commerce I would like to invite you to the Harvest of Souls opening festival parade!

Filled with 16 floats and more than 50 float crew members, this parade promises to be an exciting event!

The parade will begin on October 17th at 7:50pm ET with pre-parade commentary. The first float will enter the city of Leinster at 8:00pm ET and begin to follow the parade route. The parade will last until the final float has exited the city. So grab your friends and pick a spot the parade is coming to town!

Please check the map of the parade route to ensure you are standing in the correct place to view the parade."

Well, disclaimers out of the way, let me formally introduce you to this section!

Here I'll be posting random comments about what's going on in the game and the web site. Think of it as a What's New section with a few added bonuses. I may also post updates on Realm members, upcoming events, jokes, new fighting techniques, or unusual finds. I may forget I have this section. I may also forget to link to it from the home page. As I've commented before, I still have a lot of site tweaking to do!

I apologize for the craziness of the rest of the site. I am slowly working on it. I realize that some of the links are wierd, and the pictures are loading a little strange. Please, don't hesitate to send an mm to me on the Realm if you see something that needs fixing. I WILL get to it, I promise you!
