This was posted as an announcement on the Realm Forums by Cornelius. It's rubbing me the wrong way. Judging from comments I've heard from other players, it's rubbing EVERYONE the wrong way. It seems to me that at least one of the rules refers to a specific event that has been haunting the owner since it happened. I really don't think this is the way to handle it. Admit you were wrong about the way the situation was handled, and we the players of Realm will be satified. At least, I will be.

Norseman Games has granted our valued customers unprecedented freedom of expression in their use of our message board system. The freedom that has been permitted here far exceeds that allowed by most companies operating on the online services industry. We continue to strongly believe in and support free expression. However that freedom cannot continue to be permitted to extend to infringements upon the rights and reputations of other customers or Norseman Games. Sadly, some individuals have taken the liberty permitted here to wage a campaign of misinformation against Norseman Games and customers who dissent from the views these individuals seek to validate through repetition.


These message boards are intended to function, and will now so function, as a forum for the enjoyment of customers of The Realm Online who are seeking to share ideas, develop and enrich friendships, and to inquire for information from Norseman. These boards will no longer function as a public complaint department. All complaints should be addressed directly to Customer Service through email.


The following board rules are effective immediately:


1) Discussion of previous employees and their relationship to Norseman Games is strictly prohibited. All such posts, whether by directly addressing such topics or by inference, will be immediately deleted and the poster will face disciplinary action commensurate to the infraction as deemed appropriate in the sole judgment of Norseman management.

2) Misrepresentation of facts, Norseman’s official announcements, or claims of information as being factual which fail any rational test of objectivity will result in deletion. The poster will face disciplinary action commensurate to the infraction as deemed appropriate in the sole judgment of Norseman management.

3) Posting any content, including links or graphics, from products and services that are direct competitors of Norseman Games is prohibited.


Remember that use of these message boards falls under the Terms of Service to which all customers legally agree to abide by their use of any Norseman facility. Norseman is the sole judge of what is and what is not objectionable and may edit or delete any content at any time for any reason.
