Ahhh, the good old days. When Tulor was the ultimate challenge, the Barrens were empty, and Lady Polgara's Realm Site was THE place to go for information.
Times have changed, and Lady Polgara's site left us.
However, today in the Realm Forums, a wonderful thread posting provided this link: http://web.archive.org/web/20010301074207/http://ladypolgara.com:80/.

The new monsters have gotten a bit harder to fight - but it's still fun to watch them die!

Winter Wold Battlefront: from Usk teleport - right till you can go no farther then south
Killing Fields Battlefront: from Kurz teleport - right til you reach the Mist Battlefront
Barrens Battlefront: from Drune teleport, all the way right 1 south one right and then south

The Mist Invasion has begun!
As quoted from the What's New section of The Realm:
The Mist Invaders Are Here!
Invaders from the Mists have been reported massing on the borders. The invaders are rumored to be hybrids created by the Ancient Ones. Their hearts are in the form of an orb and contain the lost souls of our fallen brethren. The hearts are said to come in five types and to provide arcane effects when consumed. However, the Prophets have urged all citizens to turn in any hearts
found at the temple of their choice.
Hearts given as an offering to our gods will strengthen them and aid their efforts to help us resist the invasion. Offerings can be made by placing the hearts inside the chests in the temples of Despothes, Duach, and Enid. Sir Orwain in Oratory Square will maintain a tally of the souls released by each god and any citizen may look at him to receive the current number of hearts offered to each.
Unconfirmed reports are saying that the weapons known as Stingers have become somewhat more formidable in combat. It is not known if this unconfirmed change has any relationship to the invasion.
The invaders from the Mists have already caused disruption in several areas, including the return of the mail service. Officials are stating unequivocally that the invasion will not be permitted to halt the passage of the mail handlers. However, due to the huge pile of un-archived mail, delivery of today's mail will be postponed by a sun.

A patch! A patch!
It seems they've fine-tuned the alignments even more. Now you can be Demonic, Evil, Malevolent, Malignant, Neutral, Benign, Benevolent, Good, or Beatific. Wheee. I hate it when they change the words on me. I STILL have a hard time remembering sentinals and mentors!
They've also done some color changes with the blessings/curses from ToS and DG. Lots of people are running around testing them out.
Don't forget to archive your magic mail! It's back, temporarily, until they update the system on December 13.

It seems I keep mixing up my blogs. Sorry about that!
In the meantime, I'd like to congratulate Aweman for reaching 1K!
Also - I'm looking for help. So far I've been a regular reader of three different game based comics. I think Realm should have a comic. I think I should do the comic. I think I'm nuts. If anyone would like to help me out with this, or talk me out of this, I will be MORE than happy to take your advice or your ideas or your volunteering to help.
Just so I'm not alone in my suffering, here are the three I visit on a regular basis. (And just because I don't play, and will never play, EverQuest, doesn't mean I can't appreciate the talents of those that do!)
